What is the role of the confluence core in the wood plastic extrusion system?

The confluence core has the following main functions:

1. Confluence and welding: 

The melt materials extruded from the two screws are confluenced and welded to form a stream of material and transported to the forming mold.


2. Fine-tuning of plasticization degree: 

It can be used as a fine-tuning device for plasticization degree. When the plasticization degree is slightly low or high, the plasticization degree can be adjusted by lowering or raising the temperature of the confluence core. Lowering the temperature of the confluence core will increase the plasticization degree, while raising the temperature of the confluence core will reduce the plasticization degree. However, this fine-tuning has certain rules. The temperature of the confluence core should be adjusted within 10°C based on the four zones of the extruder.


3. Measurement function: 

The melt pressure and melt temperature can be measured by the sensor of the confluence core, which can then assist in judging the plasticization degree.


Some confluence cores also have a temperature control function. For example, a confluence core with temperature control is equipped with an oil temperature circulation channel. By connecting it to an oil temperature machine and outputting heat transfer oil at a constant temperature through the oil temperature machine, the required temperature of the confluence core can be controlled more accurately, thus solving the problem of confluence core overheating affecting product quality and confluence core coke material.
