What factors will affect the service life of WPC decking production machine?

The following are factors that affect the service life of WPC decking production machine:

1. Equipment design and manufacturing

Design rationality

Structural design

If the overall structural design of the equipment is unreasonable, such as poor connection between the components, it is easy to cause loosening, deformation and other problems during long-term operation. For example, the unscientific design of the matching structure of the screw and barrel of the wood plastic flooring extruder may cause uneven force on the screw and aggravate local wear, thereby shortening the service life of the equipment.

Functional design

Imperfect equipment functional design will also affect the service life. For example, if the stirring function design of the mixing equipment cannot fully mix raw materials such as wood powder and plastic, some raw materials may cause additional wear to the equipment during subsequent processing. For example, unmixed wood powder lumps may block the channel in the extruder and increase the wear of the screw and barrel.

Manufacturing quality

Material quality

The quality of the materials selected for equipment manufacturing directly determines the durability of the equipment. For example, the barrel of the extruder is made of low-quality steel, which has poor hardness and wear resistance. In an environment of high temperature, high pressure and material friction, it is easy to corrode and wear, thereby affecting the service life of the equipment.

Processing accuracy

Insufficient processing accuracy will affect the performance and life of the equipment. Taking the mold as an example, if the processing accuracy of the mold is not high, the surface of the mold cavity is not smooth or the size is deviated, when producing wood plastic flooring, not only is the product quality difficult to guarantee, but the mold itself is easily damaged during the demoulding process, which will shorten the service life of the mold in the long run.

2. Use environment

Temperature and humidity

Temperature influence

Too high or too low ambient temperature has an adverse effect on the equipment. For example, in a high temperature environment, the electrical system of the equipment may overheat, resulting in the performance degradation or even damage of electronic components. At the same time, high temperature may also cause thermal expansion of some parts of the equipment, affecting the matching accuracy between parts and accelerating wear. In a cold environment, the fluidity of the lubricating oil deteriorates when the equipment is started, which increases the friction when the parts are started and is prone to wear.

Humidity influence

High humidity environment easily causes equipment to rust and corrode. For metal parts in wood plastic flooring equipment, such as the barrel of the extruder and the frame of the tractor, if they are in a high humidity environment for a long time, moisture will react chemically with the metal to form rust, reduce the strength and precision of the parts, and shorten the service life of the equipment.

Dust and corrosive substances

Dust hazards

A large amount of dust is generated during the production process of wood plastic flooring. If this dust enters the equipment, it will cause wear on the moving parts of the equipment. For example, dust entering the bearing will increase the friction of the bearing, causing the bearing to heat up and wear more severely, affecting the normal operation of the equipment.

Corrosive substances

If there are corrosive substances in the production environment, such as acidic or alkaline gases, they will corrode the metal parts of the equipment. In the production of wood plastic flooring, the decomposition of certain plastic raw materials may produce acidic gases. If these gases are not discharged in time, they will corrode the barrel, mold and other parts of the equipment, reducing the service life of the equipment.

3. Operation and maintenance

Operation standardization degree

Start-up and shutdown operation

Incorrect startup and shutdown operations will damage the equipment. For example, if the equipment is not preheated in the prescribed order when starting up, and the high-speed running parts are suddenly started, it may cause thermal shock to the equipment, causing deformation or damage to the parts. When shutting down, if the materials in the equipment are not cleaned up in time, the residual materials may solidify in the equipment, affecting the normal operation of the equipment when it is started next time, and even damaging the equipment parts.

Operation parameter setting

Irrational operation parameters will affect the life of the equipment. For example, the screw speed, temperature and other parameters of the extruder are improperly set. If the screw speed is too high, the friction and wear between the screw and the barrel will increase; if the temperature is set too high, the plastic raw materials may decompose, and the decomposition products may corrode the equipment, which will also affect the product quality.

Maintenance measures

Daily maintenance

The quality of daily maintenance has a great impact on the life of the equipment. For example, the lack of regular equipment cleaning, the accumulation of dust and debris on the surface and inside of the equipment will affect the heat dissipation and normal operation of the equipment. If the moving parts of the equipment are not lubricated and maintained on a daily basis, the friction between the parts will increase and accelerate wear.

Regular maintenance

Regular maintenance can timely detect and solve potential problems of the equipment. If maintenance is not carried out for a long time, some minor faults in the equipment may gradually develop into major faults. For example, if a small part in the equipment is loose, if it is not discovered and tightened in time, it may cause uneven force on other parts, and eventually cause serious damage to the equipment.

4. Production load

Continuous working time

The continuous working time of the equipment is too long, which will accelerate the loss of the equipment. For example, if the wood plastic floor extruder runs continuously for a long time, the various parts of the equipment (such as screw, barrel, motor, etc.) will not get enough rest and cooling, which will cause overheating and increased wear of the parts. Long-term continuous work may also cause fatigue in the control system of the equipment, increasing the probability of failure.

Production task volume

If the production task volume is too large and exceeds the designed production capacity of the equipment, it will cause excessive use of the equipment. For example, if a large amount of wood plastic raw materials exceeding the design capacity are forced through the extruder, the screw and barrel will be subjected to excessive pressure, accelerating their wear, and may also cause the motor to overload and shorten the service life of the motor.
