What are the reasons for surface defects in wood-plastic products during production?

The reasons for surface defects in wood-plastic products during production may be as follows:

1. Raw material quality problems:

- Poor quality of wood powder and plastic, such as excessive water content of wood powder, insufficient purity of plastic or impurities, may lead to uneven mixing, thus forming defects on the surface of the product.

2. Improper formula ratio:

- An inappropriate ratio of wood powder to plastic may affect the fluidity and fusion of the material, resulting in problems such as roughness, depression or protrusion on the surface.

3. Improper processing temperature control:

- Too high processing temperature may cause the material to decompose and burn, resulting in defects such as black spots and scorch marks on the surface.

- Too low temperature may cause poor plasticization of the material, resulting in uneven surface and ripples.

4. Unreasonable extrusion or injection speed:

- Too fast speed may cause uneven material filling, bubbles, voids, etc., affecting surface quality.

- If the speed is too slow, the material may stay in the mold for too long, causing overheating and decomposition or cold lines on the surface.

5. Mold problems:

- If the mold surface is rough, worn or scratched, it will be directly reflected on the product surface and form defects.

- Poor exhaust of the mold will cause the gas to be unable to be discharged, resulting in pores or bubbles on the surface of the product.

6. Uneven cooling:

- As mentioned above, inconsistent cooling speed or uneven cooling may cause internal stress in the product, resulting in surface deformation, warping or cracks.

7. Uneven mixing:

- Wood powder and plastic are not fully mixed during the mixing process, resulting in local performance differences, which are manifested as color difference, uneven texture and other defects on the surface.

8. Environmental factors:

- Dust, impurities and other pollutants in the production environment may be mixed into the material, forming stains or foreign matter on the surface of the product.

9. Unstable process parameters:

- Fluctuations in process parameters such as pressure and torque during the production process may affect the molding quality of the product and cause surface defects.
